Laminated glass consists of a tough protective interlayer made of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) bonded between two panes of glass under heat and pressure. Once sealed together, the glass "sandwich" behaves as a single unit and looks like normal glass. Annealed, heat strengthened or tempered glass can be used to produce laminated glass.
Laminated glass may crack upon impact, but the glass fragments are held by the protective interlayer rather than falling free and potentially causing injury. It is the only glass to provide durability, high-performance and multi-functional benefits while preserving the aesthetic appearance. It offers increased protection from natural disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and hail storms.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What is the primary benefit of laminated glass compared to regular glass?
The main benefit is safety. When laminated glass breaks, the PVB interlayer holds the fragments together, preventing them from falling and causing injury. It also provides enhanced security and acoustic insulation.
Q2: Can laminated glass be used for outdoor architectural applications?
Yes, it is ideal for curtain walls, facades, and windows as it offers protection against hurricanes, earthquakes, and provides significant UV protection.
Q3: What colors are available for the PVB interlayer?
We offer a wide range of PVB colors including Clear, Milky White, Bronze, Dark Blue, Ford Blue, Green, Grey, Red, Black, and Yellow.
Q4: Does the glass meet international safety certifications?
Absolutely. Our laminated glass products conform to major international standards including CCC (China), AS/NZS2208 (Australia/New Zealand), EN12150-1 (Europe), and ASTM C1048 (USA).
Q5: What are the common thickness combinations?
Common combinations include 6.38mm (3mm glass + 0.38mm PVB + 3mm glass) and 6.76mm (3mm glass + 0.76mm PVB + 3mm glass). Many other custom thicknesses are available upon request.
Q6: Is multi-purpose laminated glass available with different materials?
Yes, we can produce composite functional laminated glass by incorporating materials like PET, wire mesh, silk, or cloth between the glass sheets using specialized technology.
