Tempered glass, also known as toughened glass, is a type of safety glass processed through controlled thermal or chemical treatments. It undergoes a special quenching process—heating to around 620ºC and then rapidly cooling—which modifies its internal structure to enhance performance.
Its core advantages lie in superior strength and safety: it boasts 3-5 times higher impact resistance than regular glass. When broken, it shatters into small, rounded granular pieces instead of sharp shards, minimizing injury risks. It also exhibits excellent thermal stability, withstanding temperature differences of up to 200-300ºC.
