Insulated Glass is made of two or more pieces of glass with effective support and evenly spaced and sealed at the periphery to form a dry gas space between the glass interlayers. Initially filled with dry air or gases with lower thermal conductivity, these interlayers provide exceptional thermal performance. To ensure functionality, gas interlayers are standardized at 6, 9, 12, 14, and 16 mm.
The closed gas interlayer prevents convection, significantly reducing heat transfer. This creates a temperature difference between sides that can exceed 10°C.
Equipped with low-emission (Low-E) films, it reduces radiation emissivity. It keeps interiors warm in winter and cool in summer by blocking solar heat.
Built-in desiccants keep the internal gas dry, preventing condensation even when temperatures drop, raising the dew point of the outer surface.
